

Elizabeth Anne Wilcox, age 73, of Williamsburg, Virginia passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025. She was born in St. Mary’s County, Maryland on September 17, 1951 and was preceded in death by her siblings, Pete and Susie, and beloved dog, Sandy.
Her education began in primary school at the Villa Maria Academy. She then attended Cardinal Gibbons High School before earning her C.N.A Certification from Tidewater Community College.
For around 15 years, Elizabeth was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was a kind soul who would not hesitate to do random good deeds for complete strangers, whether it be giving money, a ride, food, or shelter.
A music enthusiast, especially classics from the 80’s, she loved to sing and could play the piano wonderfully. She would often take a drive with the radio on loud, nowhere to go, but open for anything around town.
She was also an avid beach goer and enjoyed bird or squirrel watching. Elizabeth loved stand-up and attended many big-name comedians’ acts. She loved making people laugh and was a true comedian herself.
Most of all, she loved, loved, LOVED her children and family.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, George Wilcox; son, Chris Atkinson (Rachel); daughter, Colleen Slawiak (Gary); grandchild, Paul Slawiak; and two cats, Milo and Oliver.
A visitation for Elizabeth will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23188. A celebration of life will occur Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Grace Baptist Church, 1013 Penniman Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23185. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Rd, Suffolk, VA 23434.
