

Franklin Thomas Stevenson “Frank”, age 73 of Williamsburg, formerly of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2015. Born in Chicago, Illinois on October 19, 1942, he was the son of the late Mildred and Dr. Murphy Stevenson. He was the beloved husband of the late Lynne Rosmond Stevenson; loving father of Rebecca (Bunion) Winstead of Louisburg, NC and Patty Stevenson of Williamsburg, VA; adored grandfather of Holly (Daniel) Kidd, Katlyn Gupton, and Julianna Howington; and cherished great grandfather of Jamerson Blake Kidd.
Frank graduated with a B.S. from Vanderbilt University and a M.S. from the University of Minnesota majoring in Speech and Theatre. He retired after 26 years of service as a Civil Engineer and manager of Family Readiness, at Fort Eustis Army Transportation Base and the Headquarter of US Marine Corp, Quantico. He was a member of the Williamsburg Players as well as a Director and participant in many plays at Ft. Eustis, a member of NARF, and an active member at Williamsburg United Methodist Church. He loved watching his favorite team, the Minnesota Vikings, enjoyed baseball, traveling, and was an excellent cook. Most importantly he loved his children, grandchildren, great grandson, and his precious fur babies Gunny, Jasmine, and Achau. Frank’s favorite quote was “Remember keep your sunny side up and shiny side down”.
A Viewing will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd. Williamsburg on Tuesday, August 18 from 6:00-8:00PM. A Funeral Service will be held at Williamsburg United Methodist Church, 500 Jamestown Rd. Williamsburg, on Wednesday, August 19 at 1:00PM.
