

Georganne Rue Williams, age 71, of Williamsburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 8, 1954, in Mount Vernon, Illinois to Fay Rue and Edward E. Rue.
Georganne grew up in Mount Vernon and went to William Woods College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. A woman grounded in God; she was member of the Presbyterian faith.
She was the beloved wife of Michael Williams for 45 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and beautiful memories. As a mother, she was patient, kind, and always put her girls first. Her role as a grandmother brought her the greatest joy, and she spoiled her grandkids with endless love.
Georganne was truly one of a kind. She was the perfect mix of sassy and classy, and she lit up every room she entered with her infectious laughter. She loved boating from her childhood through her time as the Commodore’s Wife and could often be found reading. Her warm smile and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Fay Rue and her father, Edward E. Rue. She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Williams, her children, Julia Williams Delgado and her husband, Jessie Delgado and Lillian Rue Manno and her husband, James Manno and her adored grandchildren, Maxwell William Delgado, Oliver Grant Delgado, Cash Michael Manno, and Mason James Manno and her siblings Fayette Schmutzler and Jon. R. Rue.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on June 12, 2026. Visitation begins at 10 o’clock and services at 11 o’clock at Nelsen Williamsburg with the Committal to follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Sail Beyond Cancer Virginia.
