George Martin Johnson

George M. Johnson, 94, of Williamsburg, VA, passed away on September 8, 2017. He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel with the U.S. Army. Infantry was his branch during WWII, Korea and Vietnam two times. His decorations included BSM w/4 OLC; MSM; AM WWIIVM; GCMDL; C1B w/3d award and 13 additional decorations. George was a member of Hickory Neck Episcopal Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara H. Johnson. He is survived by his sons, George M. Johnson, Jr. and his wife, Sandy Miller, Geoffrey M. Johnson and his wife, Deborah and James W. Johnson; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Richard A. Hale. A memorial service for George will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday, August 20, 2018, followed by the interment.
