George Donald Posey

In loving memory of George Donald Posey, age 60, of New Kent, VA. who passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 following a long battle with lung cancer. His strength through these last few challenging years is more than admirable. He was born on August 7, 1961 and was a son to Mary Leber, her husband Lou of New Kent, and the late Wayne Posey. George is survived by his wife, Vickey Mickley (Posey) of Newport News, VA; son, Christopher Posey of Williamsburg, VA; daughter, April Posey and her husband A.J. Cooper of Yorktown, VA; his brothers, Wayne Posey and his wife Jennifer of Poquoson, VA; Michael Howell and his wife Heather of Lexington Park, MD; and Victor Howell of Newport News, VA. He worked as a pipefitter at Newport News Shipbuilding and then worked for Smith & Keene Plumbing in Newport News. He was passionate about the profession that he chose at an early age and always strived to be the best at whatever he was doing. George cared deeply for his family, his friends, and his dog, Mickey. He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, and son. He will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, to honor George's memory, please spend time this holiday season with your family and loved ones and please keep George's family in your thoughts and prayers. Immediate family will be holding a private memorial service.
