Gloria Jean Davies Morgan died on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at home. A resident of Williamsburg since 2002, Gloria was born in Quincy, Massachusetts on August 22, 1941, to Arthur Davies and Laura Canale.
Gloria worked for the Virginia Employment Commission as a Hearings Officer for 28 years before retiring in 2004. After retirement, Gloria enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and friends.
Gloria is survived by her partner and best friend of 44 years, Debbie Colvin, her daughters Karen Dail (Tommy), Laura Loranger (Ray), and Brenda. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren, Amanda, Liz (Chris), James (Staci), Brandon (Ailea), Elease (Dan), Ray, Ryan and 6 great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Evie, Zoe, Wesley, Quinn, and Rhodes (with Charlie on the way).
Gloria was predeceased by her parents and 3 sisters.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers from Heartland Hospice, especially Donya, Nanette, Whitney, Amanda, and Christine. With additional caregivers Laura and Shannon. To friends that supported her and Debbie through this long journey, a special thank you to Jane, Cindy, Anne Marie and Lanier.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 20 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home.
