Gordon “Leon” Johnson Jr. (60), passed away on Tuesday April 27, 2021, after a brief battle with an aggressive form of cancer. He was born to parents Gordon Johnson Sr. and Linda Johnson on January 28, 1961 in Newport News, VA.

Leon had a love for cars which became his profession, ultimately leading to a career of over 24 years at WJCC Schools Transportation, where he created life-long friendships. Leon was described as a “Man of many crafts, Jack of all and master at many”. He enjoyed weight lifting with his son, a good cold beer, a love for loud music, and spending quality time with his family and friends.

Leon is survived by the mother of his children, AnneMarie Johnson; his children, Zachary Johnson, Olivia Johnson, Nicole Copp (Terry Casin), and Daniel Copp; five grandchildren, Camren, Brianna, and Layla Casin, Aiden and Evan Copp; parents, Gordon and Linda Johnson; siblings, James (Jimmy) Johnson, Patience Hinson (Dave), Raleigh (Bubba) Johnson, and Dennise Hochenedel; as well as his beloved pets, Remy and Kiki; and many other family and friends who loved him dearly.

The family will welcome friends and relatives from 3-5PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg, VA on Saturday, May 1st, 2021.
