

He was born in Hamburg, NY, but moved as a child to Titusville, PA. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force. He served 24 years, primarily as an aircraft mechanic, before retiring in 1972. He then worked as a Production Controller for Newport News Shipyard for another 20 years.
Red met his first wife, Mary Sefton, while stationed in London, England. They were married for over 30 years and spent their retirement in Hampton, VA, until Mary’s passing. Red married Elaine Lucian of Yorktown, VA in 2001 and they had 19 years together until her death in 2020, living in Williamsburg, VA. For the last seven years, he resided at Commonwealth Senior Living, enjoying his time with fellow residents and staff.
Red inherited Elaine’s children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, including Janice Tolotti (Eddie) of Toano; Eileen Robards (Tom) of Williamsburg; Glenn Lucian (deceased); Jackie Haskins (Kenny) of Texas; Frank Lucian (Alison) of CA. He is also survived by his sister and her husband, Amy and Robert Felton of PA; his brother, Robert of WV; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, June 6th, at Nelsen Funeral Home, Williamsburg. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton.
