

Howard was married to his beautiful wife Stacy for 16 years. He liked collecting old coins, old cars/motorcycles, hunting/fishing and enjoyed the outdoors. He attended Warwick High School, was a motivated entrepreneur who started his own business at a very young age and built a successful plumbing, heating and air conditioning company in the Hampton Roads area. He was the proud owner of Franken, Inc. Howard enjoyed coaching his son’s baseball teams and attending his daughter’s gymnastics. He was extremely family oriented and loved spending quality time with family and vacations in the Outer Banks.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Stacy Ellen Franken; son, Colby Matthew Franken; daughter, Paige Emily Franken; father and stepmother, Ernest and Frances Franken; sister, Rona Lynn and husband Rodney Lucas; step-brothers, Harry Shoemaker and Williams Avant, Jr.; nieces and nephews, Malyn Miller, Christian Tounzen, Ayden Lucas, Austin Lucas, Kyle Lucas and Carter Lucas; brother-in-law, Marc Schneider; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Barbara Schneider.
Visitations will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM and from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, December 4th at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, VA. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the same location. Interment will follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park, 130 King William Road.
