Irmgard Wieland Palmer

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvie Palmer; son, Ronald Palmer; parents, Johann Wieland and Louise Evers Wieland; sister, Emma Buntenbach; and brothers, Werner Wieland, Heinz Wieland, and Heiner Wieland; and her beloved Pomeranian, Quincy.

She was previously employed at the George Washington Inn as an Executive Housekeeper and James City County Schools (cafeteria). Irmgard was a member of the Lebanon Church of Christ, German Ladies Lunch Club, Housekeeper Association and the DAV on Warwick Blvd.

Irmgard is survived by her sons, Arnold Palmer and Frank Palmer (JoAnne); daughter, Ruth Morehead (Craig); grandchildren, Christine, Andrew, Jennifer, Jessica, Sean and Alex; great-grandchildren, Lily, Reagan, Haley, Emma, and Brody.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg. The service will be on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 11:00am also at Nelsen Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Irmgard’s name be made to Riverside Hospice, Disabled American Veterans, or the American Cancer Society.
