

He was born on November 2, 1938 in Pennsylvania. James was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Romesburg; father, Samuel Romesburg; wife, Linda Romesburg; and dear companion, Barbara Wheeler.
James received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from West Virigina University. He was a member of Olive Branch Christian Church, where he often participated in their bible study group.
A life-long learner, James enjoyed reading, traveling, woodworking, listening to music, and cooking. He loved to play games with his friends and family, especially his grandkids. His family, church, and good food all brought him so much joy.
James is survived by his daughters, Yvonne “Vonnie” James (David) and Lonnie Louise Bogatay (Jonathan); grandchildren, Wes White (Amanda Lake-White), Heather White, Jacob Bogatay, and Rachel Bogatay (Justin Figol); great-grandchildren, Lorelei Lake-White, Will Lake-White, and Amelia Lake-White.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Olive Branch Christian Church, 7643 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, Virginia, on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11:00 am. A reception will immediately follow at the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to Olive Branch Christian Church.
