

Jerry was born March 23, 1941 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Jerome Weldon Stewart and Marian Nesser Stewart. He is survived by, Linda, his wife of 54 years; daughter, Deborah Wright (Jim); son, David Stewart (Darlene); grandchildren, Colin 23, Caden 20, Coleman 20, Elizabeth 17; and his brother James Stewart.
Jerry grew up in Hempstead, L.I., New York. He obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson University in 1963. He had a 30-year career working at General Electric, then Lockheed Martin in Syracuse, NY designing a tracking system for Over the Horizon Radar. During that time his work took him to a 3 year assignment in Melbourne, Australia. In 2014 he and Linda moved to Williamsburg, VA.
He enjoyed playing golf and over the years he belonged to many golf leagues. During his golfing career, he was able to sink two holes in one. His other interests included being an avid reader, bowling and following sports. He always liked to challenge himself by solving logic puzzles and playing bridge.
Jerry was a gentle soul and was liked by all.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, 215 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, Virginia. A livestream of the service will be available at www.mywpc.org.
