Joan Virginia Teumer (nee Droppers) arrived in her heavenly home on February 15th, 2022. Born September 11, 1925, Joan was the fourth of six children lovingly raised by Jen and Anthony Droppers in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Joan attended Hope College, and finished her degree in Occupational Therapy at Downer College, Milwaukee. She set up O.T. departments in various retirement communities, and later worked as an interior designer. Throughout her life, Joan was involved in many volunteer activities at church and beyond. Her artistic sensibilities and generous, creative spirit touched everyone she met, and everything she did. Her deep faith is reflected in her daughters, as it was in all else that she undertook.
Joan had a deep love for Lake Michigan, where she and her husband Harvey raised three girls. Joan is reunited in Heaven with Harvey, and with their daughter, Nancy Jill Teumer, as well as four of Joan's siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Susie Marty (Joel) and Marynelle Losin (Peter); as well as her younger sister, Muriel Wagner; sisters in-law, Marge Ramaker and Mary Lou Teumer; brother-in-law, Kenneth Teumer; grandsons, Noah (Sagal) Marty, Peter Marty, Jonathan (Luisa) Marty, Luke Losin and Neil (Liz) Losin; ten great-grandchildren; her many adoring nieces and nephews; and Betty Kimbrough, Joan's exceptional and angelic caregiver, made Joan's latter years happy, healthy, and complete. In more recent months, Betty assembled a loving full-time team of assistants Turkessa, Amy, Sophia, Shaw, and Heather.
Joan's exemplary and beautiful life is so deeply appreciated, and she is so dearly missed with a love that will never dim. God bless you, Mom!
