Johann Pfeffer passed away at Sentara Williamsburg Hospital on June 10, 2014. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 14 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. Johann proudly served his country for over 20 years in the United States Army. A private burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. His family would like to sincerely convey their gratitude and appreciation to all those who in many countless ways assisted with the care and concern and offered comfort and support to Johann during his illness. This includes all department and staff of Sentara Williamsburg Hospital, everyone at Virginia Oncology Associates, and the Toano Fire and Rescue Volunteers. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Pranav Parikh, Dr. G.S. Rakhra, Dr. Bruce Booth, Dr. Michael Jacobson and Miriam New, NP. He will be missed by his loving wife, Naomi; children, Carol Mitchell, Peter Pfeffer, Steven Pfeffer and Scotty Pfeffer; grandchildren, Kimberly Jones, Valerie Williams, Erich Pfeffer and Hannah Pfeffer; and many, many friends.

He will also be missed by his daughters-in-law, Katy Pfeffer and LaDonna Pfeffer. I will always hold near and dear to my heart the wonderful memories of us planting flowers, and trees in the yard, and going fishing. Working in the yard and in the garden was a great passion of his. He was so full of wisdom. I could spend hours listening to him tell stories of long ago and learning about the family history. Love you Pops.
