

He was preceded in death by his father, Rex; his mother, Ada; and his brother Tracy.
John was a well-known Orthopedic Surgeon in Springfield, OH, owning his own practice in the area for 33 years. He was a staff member of both The Community and Mercy Memorial Hospitals.
He was a member of the High St. Methodist Church in Springfield, OH. As a three-time football varsity letter winner under Coach Woody Hayes, he was an enthusiastic member of The Ohio State University Varsity ‘O’ Club. His other affiliations were: Limestone Masonic Lodge, Ohio Orthopedic Society, and Project Healing Waters Flyfishing, a division of Wounded Warriors. He attended The Ohio State University and the Bowman-Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest. He then served his residency at St. Lukes Hospital in Cleveland, OH.
He was a Vietnam War Veteran who honorably served in the 811 Medical Group at Loring, AFB in Limestone, ME.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Delores Blake; his sons, John Richard (Ann Bishea), Gregory Paul (Elizabeth Dinnin), and David Blake (Christina DeLong); and his grandchildren, John Ryan, William Douglas, Luke Richard, Samantha Reese, Grace Harper, Cooper Dinnin, and Blake May.
