John Herbison Hawkins

John Herbison Hawkins, 89, of Williamsburg, VA, passed away January 21, 2021.
Born in Rochester, NY, he was a graduate of Spencerport High School and Rochester Institute of Technology. He took great pride in serving his country as a member of the United States Naval Reserve. He worked for nearly 40 years at Taylor Instrument Company, subsequently ABB, and at the time of his retirement was Vice President of Human Resources. He was dedicated to his community and served in leadership roles at The White Church, the Spencerport Central School Board, Fairfield Cemetery and the Ogden Farmers Library.
John and Maribel retired to Williamsburg in 1999. John was an avid golfer and member of the Williamsburg Golf Club. He was rewarded with the “best golf buddies one could ever hope for” and two Hole-in-Ones. They were blessed with a community of faith and many friendships at The Williamsburg Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his children, Heidi Hawkins, and Peter Hawkins (Ruth); cherished granddaughters, Camryn Bindra and Lindsey Bindra; sisters Mary Cook (Charles) and Ann Hutton (James); and granddogs, Lilly and Ginger.
He was recently predeceased by his beloved wife of of 64 years, Maribel Mayne Hawkins.
Future interment service will be held in private at Fairfield Cemetery, Spencerport, NY.
