I had the privilege of studying writing with Jack. He was a gentle, thoughtful, and perceptive teacher and a great guy. I always looked forward to spending time with him, and was always delighted to have done so.

So sorry to hear about your loss. You know that God and Jesus are in the best position to comfort us when we lose a loved one in death.

I only had the privilege of knowing Jack Lott for two years as a writer.  He was caring, supportive and a great source of advice to help me grow as a writer.  I will miss him.

Jack was a colleague and friend in the Emerson Society.  He was a great guy, and we'll all miss him.

Mr. Lott was a smart, wonderful, kind person and he will be missed by so many!

In addition to being a tremendous and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Jack was also an accomplished Naval Officer (retired Captain), a devoted educator, historian, writer, and a true FRIEND. The Lord was gracious in limiting Jack's suffering; he is now in Heaven providing Him support in making the difficult decisions of our world. Jack will always be a integral part of the Flynn Family; never to be forgotten!

I knew Jack Lott for several years as a colleague in a critique group of the Chesapeake Bay Writers. I always respected his opinion, his ability to share his experiences, and his support and ability to be positive, no matter how difficult the writing got. He always discussed; never argued. I will miss his insights and good humor. He was proud of his family, but never bragged.  We've all suffered a great loss with his passing. People like Jack Lott are rare.

May the Lott family be comforted knowing their husband/father/grandfather is now resting in the arms of the loving God.  My thoughts and prayers for you.

Megan, I never got the opportunity to know your Dad, but I feel like I did through knowing you.  He lived a full and wonderful life and left such a great legacy through the family he and your Mom raised.  You're all in my prayers now.
