

Katherine Davis, 86 of Williamsburg, Virginia passed away at Greenfield Senior Living of Williamsburg on August 31, 2016. Katherine was born on December 30, 1929 at the Carter’s Grove Plantation in Williamsburg, VA to the late William E. Ripley, Sr. & Nannie K. Ripley. She was married to the love of her life George for 63 years.
Katherine lived her entire life in Williamsburg where she retired from the Colonial of Williamsburg Foundation. She loved knitting, crocheting and quilting. She was preceded in death by sister’s Mildred Moore and Frances Ripley Gallagher and brother William Edward Ripley, Jr.
Katherine is survived by her husband George and children, Teresa Sancaktar and her husband, Erol of Tallmadge, OH and Kevin Davis and his wife, Susie of Dallas, GA. Her grandsons Orhan Sancaktar of Aurora, CO and Errol Sancaktar and his wife Kristin of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; Kevin Davis II of Collierville, TN and Kyle Davis of Dallas, GA, one great-grandson, Evan.
She is also survived by sisters and brothers Faye Ripley of Grant’s Pass, OR, Virginia Walker of Warner Robins, GA, Otto Ripley and Robert Ripley and his wife Cathy, all of Williamsburg, John Ripley of San Antonio, TX, Thomas Ripley and his wife Clara Lee of Danville, VA and numerous nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank the staff of Greenfield Senior Living of Williamsburg and ATHC-Hospice agency and its wonderful caregivers for their devoted and loving care of Katherine during her last months.
A gathering time will be held at 1 pm on Saturday prior to a memorial service at 2 pm at Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory, Williamsburg, Va.
