Kathryn Singleton Grimstead

She grew up in Mathews County and during WWII, she married William Marvin Grimstead, who preceded her in death in 2013, after seventy years of marriage. During their long marriage, they lived in Newport News and Williamsburg. They built homes and resided in Hidenwood, Riverside, Warwick Shores, Ford’s Colony and Stonehouse before moving to WindsorMeade. They were both members of Williamsburg United Methodist Church.

Kathryn is survived by their two children, Rita Scott (son-in-law Richard) of Williamsburg, VA and Stephen Grimstead (daughter-in-law Cindy) of Wichita Falls, TX; grandchildren, Jessica Loggie (Reed), Victoria Grimstead, and Trace Grimstead; and by her great-grandchildren, Josie and Miller Loggie and Beckham Kellar, all of TX.

Funeral and burial services will be private. Nelsen Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Kathryn will be buried with her husband in Peninsula Memorial Park. The family expresses its thanks and appreciation to all the staff of WindsorMeade who cared for Kathryn as her health declined. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
