

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Lundby.
Kathryn was a graduate of Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN. She worked as a teacher in Mound, MN and in Virginia Beach, VA for 5 years and then became a devoted homemaker after the birth of her two daughters, Kristin and Kari. She was an active member of Williamsburg Community Chapel and prior to that, Centreville Baptist Church, Centreville, VA. She was a mentor at M.O.P.S. and was dedicated to a community Bible study at Ford’s Colony. Kathryn was active in marriage ministry at Williamsburg Community Chapel. She valued her children and grandchildren’s activities and supporting them. With her many travels and gifts, she spread her love of Christ with all she came in contact with. Kathryn’s adventurous spirit led her and her husband to enjoy numerous trips to Europe visiting their daughters when they lived in Rome, Italy, Budapest, Hungary and Oxfordshire, England. Kathryn loved playing golf with her husband in the Williamsburg area. She encouraged her family to love music and she played the piano.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Richard J. Young; her daughters, Kristin Ammons and her husband, Jeff and Kari Davis and her husband, Ben; grandchildren, Joshua, Elizabeth and Caleb Ammons, William and Matthew Davis; her mother, Gladys Lundby; brother, Jon Lundby; sister, Merry Waters; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will take place on Saturday March 14 from 5-8pm, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA. A service will be held on Sunday March 15 at 3pm, at Williamsburg Community Chapel, 3899 John Tyler Hwy, Williamsburg, VA.
