Larry Leon Emmons, 83, of Williamsburg, Virginia passed away on June 25, 2024. He was born in Northern Illinois to Cecil Emmons and Evelyn Vivian Emmons. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jan Emmons; his sister, Lou Ann McMillion; three nieces and three nephews.
Larry was a man of many talents, an artist, a singer, and designer. He designed and created jewelry, taught art in public schools and at the university level, and worked to grow and improve art programs in Illinois.
He was born into a musical family, singing for many events and in several productions. In 1966, he joined the Navy Band Sea Chanters performing with them for 4 years.
Larry was a lifelong car lover, owning over 50 cars during his lifetime. He worked with a friend to design and build a car that was licensed as a Blakely E Class. Following his love of cars, he started his own automotive accessory business, Emmons Coachworks, which he operated until his retirement.
When planning a move to Williamsburg, Larry designed the home that he and Jan lived in for over 19 years.
