Laura was a dedicated employee of Encircle (formerly Lutheran Family Services) for thirty years, where she used her passion for helping others to help children in need in her community. Working in treatment foster care, adoption, and later becoming a Project Manager of a program helping children displaced crossing the border find families, she left a lasting impression on all the children she helped and people she worked with.
She was a devoted mother of two daughters, Emily and Madeline. Laura proudly supported them through their childhood and as they began their careers. From dance recitals to figure skating competitions, graduations to ice shows, and every step along the way, she was always there to cheer them on.
Laura never let her diagnoses limit her. She continued to travel as much as she could with her daughters and friends, always up for a new adventure. She wore a bright smile and kept her sense of humor strong. She loved to laugh and make those around her laugh with her.
She is survived by her two daughters, her older sister Anne, her niece and nephew, and her two very special cats. Laura’s legacy will live on through the love of her family and friends, as well as the many lives she touched during her long career. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and remembered fondly in their hearts always.
