A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she lived a full and joyful life rooted in faith, family, and community. A lifelong member of Hilton Baptist Church, her faith guided her daily, and she shared her warmth and kindness generously with all who knew her.
An avid gardener, Lillian found great joy among flowers and friends through her participation in local garden clubs. She was a charter member of the Colonial Heritage Garden Club and a former member of the Berkeley Garden Club, always eager to share her knowledge and love for nature.
Her happiest days were those spent surrounded by family. She is survived by her loving daughter, Vivian Arney Myers, and her cherished grandchildren, Jason W. Hart (Pamela) and Heather Hart Mason (Sean). She also leaves behind great-grandchildren, Jeremy Ford, MacKenzie Hart, Nicholas Hart, Wesley Yeager, and Shelby Mason, all of whom brought her boundless pride and happiness.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Vid Clopton; her parents, Florence and Roy Long; and her siblings, Margaret Luce, Edward Long, Archie Long, Jean Lynch, and Shirley Cobb. She will also be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Nelsen Funeral Home, where a viewing and service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, December 17th at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
Her family takes comfort knowing her life was well-lived and that her gentle spirit will continue to flourish in the hearts of those she loved.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
