Lorraine Michelle Taylor

Lorraine Michelle Taylor, 63, of Williamsburg, James City County, VA, passed away peacefully after a two-year battle with Pancreatic Cancer on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at home. She was surrounded by family and friends.

Lorraine Taylor was born on February 24, 1962, in Harrisonburg, VA to the late Robert Lee and Genevieve Majors Franklin. She grew up in Elkton, VA where she graduated from Elkton High School [last graduating class] and developed a lifelong passion for helping others.

She married Clifton “Ralph” Taylor, Jr., on June 13, 1998, and together they built a life and raised a family. Lorraine enjoyed a career as an Administrative Co-Ordinator for 26 years at James City County Real Estate Assessment Office, where she was known for dedication, creativity, and kindness.

A devoted and cherished wife, mother and grandmother, Lorraine found her greatest joy in spending time with grandchildren, family gatherings, watching her children participate in sports and band activities. She will be remembered for her quick wit, generous heart, love of storytelling, quiet strength.

Lorraine Taylor is survived by her husband Ralph; her children Kyarah Strite (Brady), Paul Scott and Sonte Taylor; her grandchildren Ethan and Emma Carbaugh, her siblings Irvin “Pete” Majors (Ann), Tony Franklin, and Robert Lewis Franklin (Jill); her sisters-in-law Jennifer Dames and Brooke Taylor (Mike); as well as her many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and her son O’Neil B. Kuykendall.

A visitation will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, located at 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23188, on February 26, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday February 27, 2026, at The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints, 2017 Newman Rd. Williamsburg, VA 23188. Burial will be at Williamsburg Memorial Park followed by reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church’s Humanitarian or General Missionary Fund.
