Louise Anne Lindsey passed away on Tuesday October 23, 2018. She was born in Ashland, Wisconsin on February 17, 1930, the third of eight children born to Romain D. and Helen Roy Provost. She grew up in Ashland and graduated from Ashland High School in 1948. She worked for Lake Superior District Power Company and married Theodore Lindsey, of Washburn. Wisconsin, in April of 1952. They took up residence in Washburn in 1954 and remained there until they moved to Rockville, Indiana in 1971. She then moved to Williamsburg, Virginia in 2004 to be near her son.
Louise worked as a bookkeeper for the Power Company and then the County Senior Home in Washburn. In Indiana she was very involved with her church and in her retirement, she spent many hours reading, sewing, baking and enjoying the company of her granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She was also preceded in death by two sisters; LaVerne Kolberg and Jeanette Patszer; and two brothers Roy and Gary Provost. Louise is survived by her son, Michael and his wife Annette of Williamsburg, and her granddaughter Amanda Lindsey of Alexandria, VA. She is also survived by two sisters; Doris Kontney and Carole LaPlavy and a brother Rodger Provost; one sister-in-law, Margaret Provost and two brothers-in-law, Harold Patzer and John Gilbert, along with many nieces and nephews.
She has been a member of St. Bede’s Catholic Church since arriving in Williamsburg. Services will be held at Nelsen’s Funeral Home in Williamsburg at 11:00 on Friday November 2, 2018 and she will be laid to rest at St. Agnes Cemetery in Ashland, Wisconsin.
