Lydia P. Veditz, of Williamsburg, VA, passed away on January 4, 2024. Lydia is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Veditz. She is survived by her three children, Paula Marotta, Richard Veditz, Raymond Veditz and their respective spouses; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Marshall, Pamela Kendrick, Melanie Heil, Katelyn Veditz and Michael Veditz; and five great-grandchildren.
At the urging of her husband, Lydia opened Haus Tirol in Williamsburg in 1979. A native of Austria, she shared her love of fine quality European gifts and needlework for over 40 years. Her warm and inviting shop was a true reflection of Lydia's heart and soul.
She will truly be missed by her family. She delighted in creating wonderful and special moments which often reflected her European customs. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren will especially miss Oma's wonderful Kaiserschmarrn (pfannikuchen) and her one-of-a-kind cream puffs! Her ability to see the beauty in the smallest detail in nature will always be remembered - it was a part of who she was and will remain within us.
Family and friends and others whose lives were touched by Lydia are invited to the Kingspoint Clubhouse, 119 Northpoint Drive, Williamsburg from 1-5pm on Saturday, January 20th, 2024 to reminisce, share stories, and celebrate the life of Lydia.
