

Marian S. Conley, (73), passed away surrounded by her loving daughters, on August 23, 2017. Marian was born February 4, 1944 in Rocky Mount, NC, and spent the majority of her life in Richmond, VA, where she raised her family. Upon moving to Williamsburg, she received the love of many in the community during her journey living with Alzheimer's disease.
Marian is preceded in death by her husband Harold E. Conley, her brother, Joseph Coppedge and her sister, Mary Brewier.
Marian is survived by her daughters, Teresa Sweaney, spouse, Robert, Rebecca Harris, spouse, Andrew, Lee Bateman, spouse, Richard, and brother, Fred Coppedge, spouse, Vicki.
She enjoyed and cherished the love of her six grandchildren, Amanda Harris, Kristen Sweaney McLeod, Shawn Sweaney, Brittany Anton, Hannah Lewellen, and Renee Bateman, and by five great-grandchildren, Alexis Ashburn, Bryleigh Anton, Adalee Ashburn, Waylon Anton and Liam Sweaney.
Marian was also loved by many extended friends and family members. She worshiped at the Philippi Christian Church and enjoyed singing all the old hymns. Singing music kept her connected and always filled our hearts with joy.
The family would like to send their heartfelt thanks to the Angels at the Williamsburg Hospice House, the nurses throughout Riverside Health System and the many friends at the respite programs, Colonial Heritage Community Foundation and Williamsburg United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum, Richmond, VA 23231 at 9:00 am with a graveside service to follow at 11:00am located at Greenwood Memorial Gardens 12609 Patterson Ave. Richmond, Virginia 23238.
