Marshall "Mark" Samual Hicks

Marshall Samual Hicks, known to family and friends as Mark, passed away on April 11, 2022 at the age of 75. The son of Ruth Doleen Hicks and Ray Frederick Hicks, Sr., Mark was born and raised in Creedmoor, NC. After graduating from Granville High School, Mark enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served his country in the Vietnam War.

On May 29, 1976, Mark wed his beloved wife, Linda. For the past 40 years, the couple has lived in Williamsburg, VA where they raised their daughter.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ray Jr. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Linda; his daughter, Jana; son-in-law, Ben; and “grin”sons, Jackson and Cole of Williamsburg, VA. His siblings, Lynwood, Howard, Edith and Stephanie of Creedmoor, NC, Charles of Sidney, NY and Michael of Timberlake, NC.

Mark will be deeply missed by his family and friends, as well as by his much-loved dog Maggie and cat Sadie.

The memorial service will be 2:00PM on Tuesday, May 17th at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, with a reception to follow after the service.
