

She was preceded in death by her husband, Captain Richard A. Esposito; parents, Mary and Harold L. Boihem; brother, Gary A. Boihem; and sisters-in-law, Kathy Boihem and Lisa Boihem.
Carolyn graduated from Dominican High School and Soulé College. She worked at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers before dedicating herself as a Navy housewife.
Carolyn was very involved with community service. She was a member of the Kingsmill Women’s Social Club, including their Lunch Bunch. She enjoyed Antique Adventures and was also a member of the Caio Italian Club and St. Bede Catholic Church. Carolyn loved gardening, bird watching, and often volunteered with the Williamsburg Garden Club. When in New Orleans, she volunteered at St. Angela Merici Church, making and decorating Italian cookies for the annual St. Joseph Altar.
A world traveler, Carolyn loved meeting new people. Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans always made her happy, as did family gatherings.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Richard A. Esposito, Jr. (Kellie); siblings, Mary Ann Cambias (Ron), Harold L. Boihem, Jr. (Lydia), Donald J. Boihem, Mary Dolores Theriot (Paul), Mary Cary Calabrasi (Glen), Mary Gwendolyn Fischer, and Mary Elizabeth Boihem.
A visitation will be held at St. Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Rd, Williamsburg, VA on July 15, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
