

Ann Cobb Forster, recently of Williamsburg, passed away peacefully June 22, 2016 at the age of 94. A native of Wachapreague, VA, she was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Henry Cobb, and sister, Emily Cobb Parks. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Forster Via, son-in-law, Dan Forrest Via, and grandsons Forrest Mitchell Via, and Nathan Cobb Via. She was married to the late Robert Mitchell Forster for 22 years.
Residing in Norfolk for most of her life, Ann had a rewarding career as a high school English teacher and librarian with Norfolk Public Schools for 45 years. She also enjoyed teaching students in the evening GED program, and taught high school English for 2 years in Princess Anne, MD, as well. Ann received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Longwood College, a Master of Arts degree in Library Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and did further post-graduate work at Ohio University.
Ann especially enjoyed spending time with her family and many life-long friends, all who were very dear to her. The Forster/Via family would like to thank the special individuals who provided her with loving care, and companionship. A memorial service to celebrate Ann’s life will be held later this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association, or Heritage Humane Society of Williamsburg. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.nelsencares.com.
