

Mary was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1923. Her father worked for the H. J. Heinz Company. During the Depression, Mary went to live with a friend of her family, Leonne Dickinson, who Mary calls Mom, and was raised by her on Harbison Street, a beautiful tree-lined street, on the North Side of Pittsburgh.
Mary went to Oliver High School, where she met her future husband, James J. Fisher. They were married for 68 years.
Mary worked for a while at Bell Telephone. She made $15.00 a week and she gave half of it to her Mom. After WWII, Mary's husband went to work for Gulf Oil and their first child, Patricia, was born. Five years later, they moved to Harrisburg, PA, where they had their sons, Barry James and Robert Arthur.
Mary was busy as a homemaker. She was a great cook and seamstress and loved to garden and read. She took up oil painting and showed a talent for it.
Mary and Jim also had two boys, Barry and Robert. Barry lives in Blanton, PA and Robert is here in Williamsburg, VA.
Grandma will be missed by Jesse A. Bercowetz, Keely M. Fisher ( Jason Mecca), Kiel Fisher (Keturah Fisher), Catrina S. Fisher, Cooper C. Fisher. Mom's loving daughter s-in-law, Wakaba Tasaka and Elke S. Fisher will miss her. Darling Oliver J. Mecca is Mary's first Great-Grandchild! Patricia, Barry and Robert will miss their Mother.

Mary was member of St. Bede's Catholic Church.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Rd., Williamsburg, VA on Friday, October 30 at 3pm. A graveside service will take place at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Rd, Triangle, VA on Monday, November 2 at 11am.
