
Mary Dean Mulcahy was born January 28, 1926 in Washington, D.C., the only child of Harry and Mary Kendrick Dean. She remained in D.C., graduating from George Washington University in 1948, until she moved to Bronxville, New York, when she married Robert Mulcahy on September 6, 1952, after they met at the inauguration of Franklin D. Roosevelt.
While still living in the District, she worked as a secretary at the Department of the Interior. After moving to New York, she worked for a time at Seagrams, was the personal secretary for Ms. Hoff of Hoff Associates, and then as a medical secretary for her beloved Dr. Martin at Mass Mutual Insurance Company, from which she retired in 1991.
After retirement she and Bob moved to Williamsburg Landing in Williamsburg, Virginia, where she resided until her death on December 22, 2018, after 66 years of marriage.
Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, January 16, at 2 p.m. at Williamsburg Landing, 5700 Williamsburg Landing Drive, Williamsburg, Va., in the Jamestown Yorktown Room.
