Michael Wayne Chapman of Williamsburg passed away Sunday, Aug 11, 2013 at the age of 69. He was born January 19, 1944 in Miami, Florida. He held a lifelong love for aviation, and in 1966 secured his dream job as a pilot for Pan American World Airways. Mike flew for Pan Am for 28 years, attaining the rank of Captain in 1987. After the dissolution of Pan Am, he worked as a pilot, flight engineer, and instructor until his retirement.
In recent years, Mike enjoyed exercising and dancing with his many great friends at the Williamsburg YMCA.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Susan, children, Michael and Carrie, and many nieces and nephews.
