Michael Lee King

For four years during the Vietnam War era, Michael served the Coast Guard as a Damage Controlman 1st Class Petty Officer. For 33 years, he was the foreman of the carpentry shop in Colonial Williamsburg.

An avid outdoorsman, Michael enjoyed hunting, waterfowling, fishing, camping, and collecting guns. He belonged to several area hunting clubs including the Lanexa Hunt Club, North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, and the Conservation Park of Virginia Inc.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lillian Sommerville; stepdaughter, Heather West (Darrell); sister, Carolyn Young (Roy); brother, Charles Richard Wilson (Jeannie); and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will take place at 2:00pm on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Williamsburg Mennonite Church, 7800 Croaker Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23188.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Michael’s honor to the Williamsburg Mennonite Church.
