Obituary of Minnie Bailey Holland

Her life began on March 15, 1923, the daughter of the late Christopher Bailey and Sarah Bartlett Bailey. Minnie attended Mt. Pleasant grade school and the Williamsburg Training School. She retired from Eastern State Hospital after 29 years of service. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She currently attended Bethel Restoration Center, where she was the church mother. She is preceded in death by her sweetheart, her late husband, Saint Matthew Holland, her 16 brothers, 4 sisters and special friend Rosa Nell Gray. She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories, her children, Pedro Jones (Gladys), Henry Holland, Rhodalisa Holland, Everett Holland (Joyce), Saranette Holland Mitchell, and Terence Holland; her nephew Oji Reed (Carolyn). Her 21 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many caring friends. Her special cousin Louise Jacobs and friend Minnie Griffin. A celebration of life 1:00 pm Friday April 27th at Bethel Restoration Center with Pastor John N. Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park. Viewing Thursday, April 26th at Nelsen Funeral Home 5pm-7pm. Online condolences may be offered at www.nelsenwilliamsburg.com.
