Patricia “Pat” Talbot, a wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, traveler, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her three beloved daughters, on September 15, 2026, in Reston, Virginia. Her life was full of service, travel, creative pursuits, and, most of all her family and friends.
Patricia Mae Kimball was born on June 23, 1938, to the late Gordon and Mae Kimball and grew up in Reading, Massachusetts. It was at Reading High School that she met Joe Talbot, whom she later married in 1962. Pat graduated from Salem Teachers College in 1960 and became an elementary school teacher. She taught for many years while living in Newport News, Virginia, where she and Joe raised their three daughters.
Joe was an engineer at NASA, which allowed him to travel extensively around the world. Pat joined him whenever she could, sharing in his adventures and developing a love of travel that remained an important part of her life.
After retiring, Pat and Joe made their home at Kingsmill in Williamsburg, Virginia, where they continued to enjoy an active life. They traveled throughout Europe and Asia, creating countless cherished memories. Those adventures became treasured memories, especially after Joe passed away in 2020.
Pat had a lifelong love of staying active and involved. She loved people, and her bright smile caught people’s attention wherever she went. She was an avid tennis player and golfer, volunteered at the Muscarelle Museum, served as president of the Women’s Club of Kingsmill, and was a founding member of Vintage Ladies of Williamsburg. She also loved to dance, especially the polka, and Joe was her perfect partner. Together, they shared many happy moments on the dance floor.
Pat had a wonderful creative spirit. She enjoyed quilting, cross-stitching, cooking, and floral arranging. She took great pride in her home and especially loved opening it to others. She was a gracious hostess who enjoyed bringing people together, and her home was often filled with family and friends.
For the past two years, Pat lived at Williamsburg Landing, where she enjoyed keeping up with old friends while making many new ones in the Independent Living community.
Pat will be remembered for her love of family, her magnetic smile, her genuine interest in people, her creativity, and her love of an active and engaged life. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up and took great pride in each of them and their accomplishments. Most of all, she will be remembered for the warmth she brought to the people around her and the many friendships she formed throughout her life.
She is survived by her sister, Janice Kimball Wood; three daughters, Jayne Talbot and her husband, Ernie Page, Susan Corlett and her husband, Eddy Corlett, and Kitty Talbot and her husband, Jeff Bragg; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. They will carry with them her love, her laughter, and the many wonderful memories and stories that made Pat so special.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on September 25, 2026, at 12:00 PM at St. Bede Catholic Church in Williamsburg, Virginia, where Pat was an active member for nearly 40 years. A reception will be held following the Mass.
