Ralph R. Kohlenhoefer, 96, of Williamsburg, VA, passed away on November 15, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; parents, Marie and Irvin Kohlenhoefer; brothers, Eugene and Irvin Kohlenhoefer; and sisters, Maryanne Weaver and Jeanette Fergeson.
Ralph served in the U.S. Army during WWII as an electronic engineer for Aircraft Flight Simulation. He graduated from Electronics Institute in Detroit, MI and was also a member of the Presidential Guard stationed in Washington, D.C.
While stationed in D.C., he met the love of his life, Marjorie, and they married June 1, 1946. They were married for 63 years. During their life together in support of the U.S. Air Force, they lived in 39 different communities, retiring to Milton, FL until August 2009 when they moved to Williamsburg to be close to their son.
Ralph’s dedication and love of family was paramount in his life, as was his unshakeable faith in his Lord, Jesus Christ. He was a member of Saint Bede Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He also enjoyed golfing.
Ralph is survived by his son, Gregory Kohlenhoefer and his wife, Mary; grandchildren, Adrienne Brannam and her husband, Patrick, Amy Eshvis and her husband, Herman, and Gregory C. Kohlenhoefer; as well as five great-grandchildren. Throughout his years, he developed friends and long-term relationships throughout the world as a result of his kind and caring personality.
Mass will be offered on Monday, November 19 at 1 PM at St. Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Rd., Williamsburg, VA.
