Rebecca’s life was one full of love, kindness, and dedication. Her adventurous spirit, deep compassion for animals, and unwavering support for her family was felt by all around her. She was a woman of beauty and grace in spirit, in mind and in her physical presence. Professionally, she served in various administrative roles within the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, State Department, and Central Intelligence Agency. During retirement, her expertise was still sought after by the Department of Defense contractors. Her great pride in serving her country was only second to her love of family, critters and life itself.
Rebecca loved travel and experiencing foreign cultures and this passion grew from having lived in Germany on multiple occasions. She embodied love in a long life with her devoted husband, William, and reveled in the companionship of her beloved cats. Her happy place was a cat resting in her lap, and she had a fondness for early 1900s swing music.
She is survived by her loving husband, William E. Ore; her son, Jeffrey A. Ore (Janine Schroder). She is also survived by her sister, Gayle Peterson (Wayne).
She was preceded in death by her brother, William A. Green Jr.; her father, William A. Green Sr.; her mother, Francis Bybee; and her sister-in-law, Helen Jean Green.
A viewing will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Eastern at Nelsen Williamsburg, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
She will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery in a private service.
Rebecca will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her love, beauty, generosity, and devotion to both family and her country.
