Richard Allen Coberly Sr.

Richard Allen Coberly, Sr., 67, also known as Bucky, Pops and Dad, entered life on December 14, 1952 and departed on June 30, 2020. He lived his life to the fullest while enduring health battles. Richard was a kind-hearted person who helped anyone he encountered and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He had a love for the road which he displayed as a truck driver for over 40 years. Richard enjoyed drag racing and loved attending the drag strip weekly with his son and friends making passes down the strip. He loved fishing. Known for cutting grass for all his family and friends, he could often be found driving his lawnmower around the neighborhood. Richard also loved the Washington Redskins football team. During his time here, Richard had 3 unions of marriage, Cynthia, Etta and Michelle. Richard is survived by his sons, Richard Allen Coberly, II (Christine), and Ronnie Hinkley (Michelle); grandchildren, Deante, Isaiah, Savannah, AJ, Gabe and Ronnie Mark; mother, Peggy Hughes (Jack); brother, Jessie Coberly; sisters, Debbie Tsitsicoupolous (Jerry), Peggy Sue Lauderman (Buck), and Betty Jo Coberly; many nieces and nephews, and family and friends; and former wife, Cynthia Blanks. He is preceded in death by his father, Jesse Junior Coberly; brothers, Ronald Lee “Captain Frog” Coberly, Russell Eugene Coberly and Albert Thomas Coberly. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2020 from 3-7PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, Virginia.
