Bruce was born on May 28, 1933 to Ira and Ruth Marquardt and had two brothers, Lee and Tony.
After graduation, Bruce worked with his father, who owned his own construction company. He loved making furniture for his family and extended family. He also served in the military, and was stationed in Germany.
Following his military service, he met his wife Martha and set up housekeeping in Mystic, Connecticut. They then moved to Williamsburg, Virginia, where he began working for Colonial Williamsburg. He retired as a master carpenter after 35+ years.
Bruce is survived by his nephew, Eric Marquardt and Eric’s daughter, Julia; his nieces, Gail T. Unterman and Joyce Estes; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. He was also Godfather to many. He will be sorely missed.
A graveside service will take place at Williamsburg Memorial Park on Sunday, February 6 at 1:30pm.
