Roger Sams (63) was born on March 19, 1959 to Charles and Dorris Sams. He graduated from West Virginia University and pursued careers in sales. If you knew Roger, then you knew of his generosity, hospitality, selflessness, and genuine care. He invested deeply in his family, was everyone’s biggest fan, and won every game of cornhole he played. Roger was a man of integrity whose legacy lives on in his work and most importantly, in his family.
He passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022 with his family by his side, after a quick and courageous fight against cancer. He is survived by his wife Lisa (of 37 years) and daughters: Sarah (Jason), Abbey (Isaiah), and Hannah (Colin).
It was always a dream of his to be a stop on a tacky lights tour, and a joke we carry on every Christmas season. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to the American Cancer Society (https://www.cancer.org/) or send your tackiest outdoor Christmas decoration to Lisa Sams.
We will have a celebration of Roger’s life on Thursday, December 15 at 11:00 AM at Williamsburg Community Chapel.
