Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Grandfather, Uncle, Cousin, & Friend Ronald Charles Walker was born in Waycross, Georgia on Feb. 25, 1953. He was called home to eternal rest on April 20, 2019 at his home while surrounded by his loving family. He was the fourth child of eight children. He was educated in the Ware County School System. He later joined the United States Army Reserves and then later, the United States Army. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife Aldena Walker of 37 years of marriage, a son Preston Palani (Chemely), and a grandson Joell. He is preceded in death by his father, Freeman Walker Sr., mother, Vivian Walker Edwards, and his youngest brother Michael R. Walker Sr. While serving in the United States Army he served as a Transportation Management Coordinator, MOS 88N for a total of 24 years. Some of his duty tours included: 870th Transportation Company, Fort Eustis, VA, 551st Transportation Company, Fort Eustis, VA, 491st Transportation Detachment, Fort Eustis, VA, 229th Transportation Company, Germany- attached to the 240th Supply and Service Company, Nuremberg, Germany, HHC, 34th SPT Group, Yongsan, Korea, HHC, 64th Corps Support Group, Fort Hood, TX. He was a veteran of Persian Gulf War- Desert Storm/ Desert Shield. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, 6th Award, Army Achievement Medal, 3rd Award, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Star, and Kuwait Liberation Medal. He was also a member of the America Legion Post 368 and the Prince Hall Masonic Lodge (Korea). Ronald was a family-oriented man who cherished his relationships with his friends as much as he did with his family. He was instrumental in creating memories that we will never forget. He leaves behind to treasure those memories, his wife, Aldena; son, Preston Palani (Chemely); grandson, Joell Kealoha; a devoted honorary son, Ron J. Joshua, Sr.; a devoted canine companion, Arnie; siblings, Carolyn Walker (Henry), Diane Walker Williams (Stephen), Freeman Walker, Jr. (Velma), Debra Coley (Leonard), Clisher Harmon (Steven), Jeanine Carter (Warren) and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Ronald (Ronnie) will be greatly missed in our family. “If his hands found labor, he did it”. The Lord took him home from his labor of work; he truly endured hardship as a good soldier (II Timothy 2:3-5) and now he can rest in the arms of the Lord. “Well done my good and faithful servant.”
