With Trudy’s departure, we remember a life lived with immense love and a constant sense of caring for all family members, both here and abroad.
She was born September, 28, 1934 in Arlaching, Chiemsee, a daughter of the late Therese and Joseph Partner, hoteliers of Hotel zum Türken, Berchestgaden, Germany and lived in Williamsburg, Virginia since 1985.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sergeant Major James “Robby” Robins of 46 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Sue Robins of Williamsburg and Dina McFarland and her husband, Gene McFarland, of Williamsburg; and one son, Terry Robins of Kill Devil Hills, NC; three grandchildren, Brandon, Zachary and Jacob and her many cousins, nieces and nephews around the world.
Her dinner table was endlessly expandable; her home was a haven for wayward Soldiers during the holidays and all who entered. Her German recipes were the talk of the family and shared every holiday along with a good game of Tripoly. She will be remembered by her strong sense of loyalty to family, her patience, and humor, which shaped us into who we are today. Her dry, Bavarian humor will always be remembered by the endless requests to pronounce her first name. To which she would reply, “Mrs.” If you can’t roll a couple of “R’s” don’t try.
A private family gathering was held at Williamsburg Memorial Park at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec 6 at the Williamsburg Memorial Park.
