

Sherry was born on October 16, 1970 in Richmond, VA. She is survived by her husband, Michael M. Dunn, Sr.; parents Dorothy Landes and Arthur Norman Hofmeyer, Jr.; children, Courtney Thompson, Kayla Thompson, Seth Dunn, Savanna Dunn; four step-children; sisters, Bonnie Hofmeyer (Roger Sizemore) and Robin Hofmeyer Ellis (Bruce Ellis); and mother-in-law, Joan Dunn. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Norman Hofmeyer, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Gordon Landes, Tabitha Johnson; and step-grandfather, George Johnson.
Sherry attended Walsingham Academy from kindergarten through 9th grade. She graduated from Williamsburg Christian Academy in 1989 and in 2015, she graduated from South University with a degree in Healthcare Management. She loved the OBX, baseball games, competitive Cheer, VT football and the mountains of TN and VA, and attending concerts with her oldest daughters. She was a proud mom of a son who played for the Williamsburg Revolution baseball team and enjoyed participating as a FAME cheer mom. Her favorite times were spent on the river with her children and friends, especially at her favorite spot at Tomahund Plantation. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist in Charles City and also attended Williamsburg Community Chapel.
A visitation will take place at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, VA on Friday, July 22, 2016 from 6-9PM. A Service will be held at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Charles City, VA on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 12PM where the family will receive friends an hour prior to the service with a lunch following the service.
