Shirley Deabler Chalker passed away peacefully on February 17, 2015 at the age of 85. She was born on May 19, 1929 in Centralia, Illinois, where she grew up. She became an R.N. and worked at Missouri Southern Baptist Hospital. She lived several places in her lifetime, including Florida, Pennsylvania, and New York. She settled in Pinehurst, North Carolina for many years before moving to be near her grandchildren in Williamsburg, Va, after the passing of her husband of 50 years. She spent her life doing the things she loved; raising her two children, gardening, and arts and crafts.
Shirley Chalker is survived by her daughter, Jana Brultz and husband, Shawn, and their children, Sadie and Sally Brultz. She is predeceased by her husband, Arthur Chalker, and son, Brian Chalker. She leaves behind a world of friendships whose lives were impacted by her humor and strength.
