Shirley Ann Killilea

Shirley Ann Killilea, of Williamsburg, passed away on July 8, 2013, at the age of 71. She was a long time resident of Williamsburg and devoted military wife. Shirley enjoyed traveling and caring for her family during stateside and overseas assignments. She was a loving and compassionate woman who will be remembered by all who knew her. Shirley was the cherished wife of her husband of 52 years, James T. Killilea. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her children: James and his wife Dana, Michael and his wife Dawn, Thomas, Kathleen Balser and her husband Michael, and daughter-in-law Colleen; her grandchildren, Stephen, Lauren, James, Megan, Bridget, Karlie, Josh, and; and great grandchild, Ezra. A private Catholic Memorial Mass will be held for the Killilea family at a future date. In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made in Shirley’s name to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale St, Memphis, TN, 38105. Online condolences may be offered at

Dear Jim and Family,

Don and I were so sad to hear about the loss of Shirley. She was a lovely and happy woman and wonderful Mother, Grandmother and, of course, a good Wife to you. We couldn't have asked for a better neighbor.
We lived down Tazewell's from you for 17 years and now that we are back in Chicago we remember fondly our life in Williamsburg and do miss our friends.
