He was preceded in death by his parents, James Marshall Curry and Elizabeth Curry, and sister Cathrine Gayle Curry. Mike will be missed by his brothers, Lee Curry, Ken Curry, and Tim Curry, as well as his sister, Debra Beth Wyatt, and many other family and friends.
After earning his Associate of Arts in Communications/Marketing and graduating cum laude from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Mike also earned degrees in Graphic Communications/Marketing from the University of Southern Mississippi, and Community Engagement and Public Relations from the American Press Institute.
Mike was enjoying retirement working as a part-time Customer Service Representative at the James City County Recreation Center. Prior to his retirement, he had a long and successful career in Marketing and Advertising. He was the director at New Business Development World Marketing in Phoenix, AZ before serving for many years locally as the Advertising Director for the Virginia Gazette.
Mike was very fond of Colonial Williamsburg and history, as well as pets, fine dining, culinary creations, fine art, gardening, and classical music. He was creative and loved decorating for Christmas and other holidays, and he loved to cook. Mike had a fantastic sense of humor, and thoroughly enjoyed comedy both on stage and in life. He attended Williamsburg Unitarian Universalist Congregation, and was active with the Virginia Press Association, the Williamsburg Aids Network, and supporting Heritage Humane Society.
Blessed with a great generous heart, Mike was loyal, faithful, and always incredibly supportive to his family and friends.
