Thomas R. Hill

Thomas R. Hill, 77, of Toano, VA, and previously of Yorktown Heights, NY, was born on July 28, 1943 and passed into the arms of the Lord, surrounded by his wife, daughter, and son on April 9, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rowland and Eunice Hill. Before working as the Director of the Instrument Laboratory for Columbia University, Thomas served in and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy. In addition, he was the Commander of American Legion Post #1009, a member of Color Guard Post #1009, Cubmaster of Pack #164, and a YAC Youth Baseball Coach. He was also a member of the Toano Ruritan Club, a board member of CIAO, and worshipped at St. Bede Catholic Church. Thomas was an avid golfer, and loved to travel with his wife. He loved spending time with his family and sharing his knowledge with his grandsons. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Linda Hill; son, Kevin Hill (Amy); daughter, Karen Hill (Patrick); and grandchildren, PJ Hill and Logan Hill. A funeral mass will be held at 2:00pm on April 29, 2021 at St. Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
