

Following a year-long struggle with illness, Vicki Bentley (Tano) went home on April 28, 2016. She was born on June 12, 1951 in Fairmont, West Virginia. She had a variety of jobs, but her longest passion was being a CNA Hospice Aid and helping many families and their loved ones at very difficult times. Breeding and showing Shetland Sheepdogs was her other great love.
She is predeceased by her father, Charles Tano; uncle Clarence Tano; son Shawn Thompson; grandparents Robert and Mildred Criss, who raised her; and her beloved pets, Pete and Topper. She is survived by her husband, Johnny Bentley; mother, Dorothy Hayes; stepmother, Mildred Gemondo; brothers Bill Kennedy and Charles Tano, Jr.; children, Robert Thompson and Charlene Criss; grandchildren, Victorina Toothman and her husband Robert, Shawna Thompson, and RJ Thompson; and her fur baby, Dierks.
She will be laid to rest at Williamsburg Memorial Park, 130 King William Dr., Williamsburg, VA 23188 on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 12pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Heritage Humane Society in her honor.
