Willa Mae "Billie" Norwood

Willa Mae “Billie” Norwood went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, February 25, 2023. She is reunited in Heaven with her husband, John F Norwood Jr.; her sons, Joey, and Bobby; and her grandson, Kellen. She is also preceded in death by her parents; Faye Elizabeth and Dexter Hooper; her brothers, Franklin and David; and a sister, Ann.

Billie was a long time resident of Williamsburg where she also retired from her career as a dental assistant. She “adopted” many friends of her children and grandchildren and if you left her home hungry it was your own fault! You could always expect to be sent home with leftovers, rice crispy treats, fruit roll ups, and cans of ginger ale!

She loved her family, especially her grandchildren who always brought a smile to her face. Her homemade biscuits and gravy, chicken soup, and chicken and dumplings will be sorely missed. Her passion for live music and dancing are treasured memories.

Billie leaves behind her daughters, Samantha and Sherry; her son-in-love, Matthew; her devoted and special friend, Walter; as well as her sisters, Janie, Clara, Lu, Lynn, Becky and her sister-in-love Levon. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Ellie, Ross, Cole, Ryan and Jordan; and three great-grandchildren, Brody, Hayden and Layla.

Services will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 10:00 am at Nelsen Funeral Home, Williamsburg with a reception to immediately follow.
